- Ahh, you've discovered one of the reasons to buy an external modem
- I see.. Anyway, what you could try (it may or may not work) is to set the
- modem to hand-up and reset on DTR drop. This is usualy accomplished by
- using the &D3 command, although a few modems (eg USR) use different
- commands for this. Then, make sure that you're software is dropping DTR
- to hang up your modem normally. Then try telling your software to hang up
- the modem when it locks up. Depending on what is locking up in your
- modem, it may or may not fix the problem. If this doesn't work, I'm
- affraid their isn't a heck of a lot you can do.
